The ACWA Board meets the first Wednesday, quarterly.
ACWA's 5th Rubbish Round-up.
Information about this event follows:
1. Assembly place: Dixon Troxell Post 211 (Funkstown American Legion),
12 Nw side Avenue, Funkstown, Md 21742
2. Time Frame: 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM
3. Brief Description: The pupose of the Rubbish Round-up is to pick up trash and help clean-up part
of the waterway of Antietam Creek in Washington County, Maryland. Volunteers will paddle or row in
boats down a section of Antietam Creek from the MELP plant to the Legion's site. Other volunteers will
walk along the creek. Some of the trash will be re-cycled while most of it will be picked-up by
municipal employees. A picnic lunch will follow.
About 100 volunteers from schools, scouts, alternative sanctions program, and the general public are
expected to participate.
